New year yoga, and integration
Hello friend đ

Now, letâs talk about integration
As we approach the end of the year, it is a good time to reflect on what has happened over the last 12 months.
What is integration and why is it essential?
Integration is for example learning a new skill and then practicing it so that it registers into your bodymind â then you can use it whenever you want.
Think of riding a bicycle. It will always be there.
Integration is taking something that you learn, for example, a philosophy of life, new values like âwhy it is good to be honestâ,
and then sitting with it, meditating on it, understanding what it means for you, connecting the dots with personal experiences, with existing personal values already incorporated within you,
and making it a part of you, not just something you've learned and read in a book, but something that comes from you,
so that when you teach it, it feels original and authentic.
You can imagine a package of new data coming into your system.
If you donât integrate it, these new bits of data will be floating around without a place where to attach.
It will end up either floating away, dissolving into the mass, or will get lost and float around in your brain.
Now imagine many packages of data floating around, what a mess! They clutter your mind, they take space and energy, they cause interferences.
So instead, what you do is you take that package of data, and you find ways to integrate it with your existing set of data.
You find a logical and natural way to attach the new bits to your system, making new, solid, sustainable connection between neurons.
You find what works for you, maybe some parts you don't need, you let those go, and integrate the rest to build upon and improve your whole system.
What does integration look like in practice?
journaling
meditating
sleeping
taking time off
deep conversation
consistent practice
So hereâs an integration exercise to end the year

Going through The Year Tree, you will review last yearâs accomplishments and set intentions for the coming year. This is a great way to recognize and value the impactful experiences of your life.
Hereâs a Notion template you can use for the exercise, just duplicate the template to complete your own, or do it by hand on paper if you prefer.
I hope to see you tomorrow in class,
and wish you an excellent end of year!
Kindly,
Julien
